After being slapped in the face by the heat in NYC (yes, I know I live in the Cayman Islands), I'm back and still recovering. With the heat wave, summer style was definitely on display. Below are my pics for fun summer shorts and skirts. Some are on sale so you may want to snap them up!
The next step after I apply my eye cream is applying Alpha Hydrox Enhanced Lotion 10% Glycolic AHA Anti-Wrinkle which I blogged about in a previous post My Favorite Skincare Product.
I follow that with Himalaya Acne-n-Pimple Cream. A product I apply mostly to my T-zone and pretty much anywhere else on my face that I feel necessary. I apply it every day regardless of whether I have a pimple or not. I first started using it years ago when my facialist recommended it and I have not looked back since. Now I'm not promising that you will never get a pimple but I really do find it did do wonders for my skin.
Why it works

Chapter 3.....After I apply the toner my next is applying eye cream. Now this is the one area where I don't think I have found "the one". I have tried a few and some give me small pumps especially ones that have Hydroquinone which is essentially a skin lightener that is supposed to diminish dark circles.
For the last year, I have been using RoC Eye Correxion Cream. I can't tell if it has been doing the trick but I haven't had an allergic reaction so that's why I continue to use it. A friend of mine has recommended Omorovicza which is a Hungarian brand carried at Neiman Marcus- this will be my next experiment.
if you have any recommendations for eye creams that target dark circles and wrinkles, please let me know!!
It's that time of year.....some of you are bombarded with wedding invitations and in search of the right outfit. They key is to look chic and beautiful without overshadowing the bride. In my book, black is too somber so color is definitely the way to go.
Below are my picks that can work for more casual outdoor weddings all the way to a formal affair - it all depends on how you accessorize! I'm literally salivating over all the statement shoes , Ted Baker Silver Sequen Dress, and tassel earrings!!! I have also included more casual shoe options for outdoor weddings or if you need a cute backup pair of flats.

Chapter 2......Whether a toner is really necessary has been debated by dermatologists but in my book it is a must!! The only time I do not use a toner is when I use face wipes but if I use a face wash then I'm definitely using a toner afterwards. My combination skin responds well to this alcohol free toner and did not dry it out.
Benefits of Seaweed
- Seaweed is a pure concentration of sea water and like sea water it's similar in composition to human plasma. So the skin can be rehydrated by this "sister substance," making it "plump, smooth, without wrinkles."
- Seaweed's anti-inflammatory properties can be helpful with acne and rosacea.
- Excellent source of over 12 minerals, especially sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, iron, zinc and manganese.

Chapter 1...........As a self professed skincare product junkie, many people have asked me about the products I use so I decided it was time to write about it. Over the years, I have switched up my skin care regime a few times and settled on few great and mostly inexpensive products. Over the next few weeks I am going to share each product with you. It's important to note that I have combination and somewhat sensitive skin so these products may not work for everyone.
The most important thing is always to research a product before you use it, read the reviews and check out the main ingredients. I recommend reading a book called The Skin Type Solution by Leslie Baumann. I also follow her posts on Yahoo! Health called The Skin Guru.
***FACE WASH PICK*** Phisoderm Anti-Blemish Gel Face Wash
I have been using this particular face wash now for several years and it never fails me. The key ingredient is 2% salicylic acid which essentially acts as an exfoliant.
Salicylic Acid (Source: About.com)
Salicylic acid is a beta hydroxy acid commonly used to treat comedonal or non-inflamed acne. It helps correct the abnormal desquamation process that occurs in acne-prone skin. It works as an exfoliant, promoting the sloughing away of dead skin cells.
Salicylic acid is especially helpful in treating acne because of its ability to penetrate the follicle. It encourages the shedding of dead skin cells from within the follicle, helping keep the pores clear of cellular debris. In this way, it reduces the number of pore blockages and breakouts on the skin.

Chic. Delicate. Pretty. Glamorous.
I have to say that out of all the red carpet events for the year Cannes has to be one of my absolute favorites! Two days in, can it get any better? Guess we will have to wait and see....after all you're supposed to save the best for last.
